Studying in Belgium will give you access to excellent higher education at an excellent price/quality ratio, in an open and multilingual society, boasting a high quality of life and a universal health care system, in an innovation-driven economy, at the heart of Europe.
Higher education is managed by the French-speaking and the Dutch-speaking communities in Belgium. In both communities you will find numerous English-taught study programmes. There are 3 types of higher education institutions: research universities, universities of applied sciences and schools of arts.
Several Belgian universities appear in the top 200 of international rankings, including the Reuters ranking for Europe’s most innovative universities, which is topped by a Belgian university. Nevertheless, the tuition fees are affordable (1,500 – 10,000 SGD average, with some exceptions).
Approximately 20% of students (40% at doctorate level) enrolled in higher education in Belgium are international. In addition to French, Dutch and German, English is widely spoken.
Brussels, our capital, is home to more than 2,000 international organisations and companies, including NATO and the EU institutions. Not only does this mean that Belgium houses one of the world’s largest press communities, it also means that Brussels is the city with the second most diplomats globally!
