Higher education is managed by the French-speaking and the Dutch-speaking communities in Belgium. In both communities you will find numerous English-taught study programmes. There are 3 types of higher education institutions: research universities, universities of applied sciences and schools of arts.
Several Belgian universities appear in the top 200 of international rankings, including the Reuters ranking for Europe’s most innovative universities, which is topped by a Belgian university. Nevertheless, the tuition fees are affordable (1,500 – 10,000 SGD average, with some exceptions).
Approximately 20% of students (40% at doctorate level) enrolled in higher education in Belgium are international. In addition to French, Dutch and German, English is widely spoken.
